Calvin Wilson, a long-time veteran of the retail agronomy industry, was recently hired as the General Manager at Valley Farmers Supply in Worden. Wilson said part of the reason he moved to the retail side of the industry is that he realized at a young age “being an agronomist didn’t pay very well.”
“One of my customers said he liked what I was doing, and to come over and see him,” Wilson said in an interview, “and I ended up running three little truck stops” called Ernie’s Fuel Stops. Wilson also worked for 20 years at Coleman Oil before deciding it was time to “do something different,” which is when he got a job with City Service Valcon for about 16 months.
